4 Ways to Use Victorian Witch Clipart in Junk Journals and Paper Crafts
Victorian witch clipart is one of my favorite things to design, because a single printable set can become many different projects. The moody plum gowns, ravens, black roses, and antique frames suit junk journals, Halloween crafts, and gothic decor all year long.
In this post, I will show you four ways to use gothic Victorian clipart: journal cards, decorative tags, a scrapbook layout, and a handmade condolence card. Each project follows the same three steps, so you can print, cut, layer, and finish at your own pace. The projects below use pieces from my Victorian Haunted Manor printables, and the same techniques work with any gothic Victorian clipart.
What You Will Need
- A printer, plus matte photo paper or lightweight cardstock
- Scissors
- A glue stick or tape runner
- A hole punch
- Ribbon
- Lace
If you are new to layering, my tutorial How to Build a Haunted Journal Page covers the basics of building depth with paper.
1. Make Junk Journal Cards with Victorian Clipart
Journal cards are the easiest place to start, and they give your junk journal pages a focal point.
Step 1: Print and cut. Print the card frames, quote cards, and clipart sheets, then cut out each piece.

Step 2: Layer. Glue a frame to the card base, then add the lady, raven, and roses so they overlap the edges.

Step 3: Finish. Tuck a quote card into the frame. Your journal card is ready for a pocket or a page.

2. Make Decorative Gothic Tags
Tags are quick to make, and they work for gift wrap, journal pockets, or hanging on a shelf.
Step 1: Print and cut. Print the tag sheet and cut out each tag.

Step 2: Layer and build. Add a lady, a bottle, a key, or a mirror to each tag, and let the pieces overlap.

Step 3: Finish. Punch a hole at the top and thread a ribbon through it. Black, mauve, and cream ribbons make a varied set.

3. Create a Gothic Scrapbook Layout
A scrapbook page lets you combine background papers, labels, tickets, and quotes into a single scene.
Step 1: Print and cut. Print the papers, labels, quote cards, and ephemera.

Step 2: Layer the page. Start with the largest paper, add a strip of lace, then build up with the framed portrait, quote card, and ticket.

Step 3: Finish. Add the small details last, such as a butterfly, a clock, or a wax seal.

4. Make a Handmade Gothic Condolence Card
This is a gentler use of gothic Victorian clipart. A handmade card feels personal, and a mourning-style lady with a candlelit envelope suits a quiet, heartfelt message.
Step 1: Print and cut. Print the card papers, envelope template, and clipart, then cut and fold.

Step 2: Assemble the layers. Glue the card front to the folded base, then add a strip of lace, an ornate label, and the lady.

Step 3: Finish. Fold and glue the envelope, then slip in your handwritten note.
